57-year-old kidnapped Sikh man found dead in US
Avtar Singh, 57, who was kidnapped on Tuesday afternoon (US time) from a gurdwara complex in the Tracy area of California, US, has been found dead.

JALANDHAR: Avtar Singh, 57, who was kidnapped on Tuesday afternoon (US time) from a gurdwara complex in the Tracy area of California, US, has been found dead.Sharing the information on his Facebook page, Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhuma said on Saturday evening, “His body was found today.” Avtar served as a cook at the Taksal-controlled gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash for quite a few years.

Dhuma said Avtar Singh earlier served at the Taksal headquarters at Gurdwara Gurdarshan Parkash, Chowk Mehta, for a long time, and he was serving at Taksal’s branch in Tracy.He resided in the gurdwara complex. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation. “During the investigation, surveillance footage showed a white SUV and 3 unidentified individuals dressed in dark clothing with the victim at approximately 2:30 PM. The victim appears to have entered the vehicle against his will,” the Sheriff’s Office posted.
