'Doomsday Clock' moves closer than ever to midnight, a year into Trump's term




The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists set their “Doomsday Clock”, representing how near humanity is to catastrophe, closer than ever to midnight on Tuesday, citing accelerating “winner-takes-all” global competition and weakening nuclear reduction commitments. Board members also voiced alarm over President Donald Trump’s crackdown in Minnesota and its implications for the future of human rights.
