'Will pee in your mouth': UP GRP sub-inspector assaults vendor over delay in serving tea, suspended

AGRA: A Government Railway Police (GRP) sub-inspector posted at Mathura Junction has been suspended after a CCTV footage circulating on social media purportedly showed him slapping a tea vendor for delay in preparing tea. In the video, the officer is heard verbally abusing the vendor and saying, “I will pee in your mouth.”The alleged incident happened on Wednesday morning on Platform No 8, and the action against the SI came on Thursday.Vendor Suraj Chauhan, in his early 20s, was cleaning his stall when SI Vivek Kumar arrived and asked him to prepare tea, handing over a milk packet for the same. The vendor requested for some time as he was cleaning. The officer went away and returned a while later, only to find the vendor still engaged in cleaning work.When Chauhan again asked for a few more minutes, the officer allegedly used abusive language and slapped him. The SI was also heard saying, “I will pee into your mouth.”The entire episode was recorded by CCTV camera, and the footage quickly came to the attention of senior officials. GRP SP Anil Kumar Jha said, “Taking cognisance of the video, a preliminary inquiry was conducted and based on the probe findings, SI Vivek Kumar was placed under suspension for misconduct and indiscipline. Orders were also issued to initiate a departmental inquiry into the matter.”
