Amazon down for UK users: Thousands report facing payment failures, app glitches and error messages

Amazon is facing a major outage in the UK. Thousands of users of the e-commerce platform have reported facing issues, including payment failures, app glitches, and error messages while trying to complete purchases. According to outage-tracking website Down Detector, more than 2,000 complaints were recorded at the time of writing, with reports rising sharply. The issues appear to have started around 11 am UK time (around 4.30 pm India time), affecting customers who are unable to view orders or check out items in their carts. Down Detector data shows that 69% of reported problems were related to the checkout process, 23% to the Amazon app, and 5% to the website.

Amazon outage in UK: How it is affecting users

According to a report by The Irish Sun, some UK shoppers were shown an error message when attempting to complete their purchases on Amazon. The message reads: “We’re very sorry, but we’re having trouble doing what you just asked us to do. Please give us another chance – click the Back button on your browser and try your request again.”Customers shared their experiences on social media, with one X user writing: “I haven’t been able to buy anything from Amazon today.”Another user reported being unable to access their order history on the platform. The Amazon customer wrote: “Not letting me place an order after adding items to the cart! Tried to do prepaid and COD (cash on delivery) mode as well.”Apart from the UK, users in Spain, France and Italy have also reported similar problems with the e-retailer. According to Down for Everyone, the most recent Amazon outage was detected earlier this month, which reportedly lasted about an hour.(Developing story)
