Asked men to talk softly, 70-year-old man bludgeoned to death in Gurgaon

GURGAON: A 70-year-old man was beaten to death with a stone after an altercation in Dundahera village on Monday.The incident took place around 4pm near Bank Gali when Jagdish objected to some men standing in front of a house and having a loud conversation. He asked them to talk softly or move away, which led to a heated argument between him and one of the men.The spat soon turned violent. “A man named Monu pushed Jadgish to the ground and began kicking and punching him,” an officer said. Monu then picked up a large stone and struck him multiple times on his chest and head, leaving him critically injured.Police said on receiving information about the fight, they rushed to the spot. They found a blood-stained stone. Jagish had already been shifted to a nearby hospital.At the hospital, Jagdish’s son told the police that he had received a phone call from a resident of the village that his father had got into a fight with Monu. A case was registered at Udyog Vihar police station. Jagdish died of his injuries during treatment, after which murder charges were added to the FIR.Monu (27) a painter, has been arrested. Police claimed that he has confessed to the crime.
