EAM Jaishankar thanks UAE president for protecting Indian diaspora amid West Asia conflict

NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. During his meeting with him on Sunday, he expressed his gratitude to the president for ensuring the well-being of the Indian community during the recent West Asia conflict. He also conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed ways to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.Jaishankar shared about the meeting in a post on X as he wrote, “Deeply honoured to call on President of UAE HH Mohamed Bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi today. Conveyed warm greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our gratitude for ensuring well-being of the Indian community during the West Asia conflict.”He further added about the discussion to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. “Thank him for his guidance on further strengthening the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” he wrote.The minister also met Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the visit, where he reiterated India’s appreciation for the UAE’s continued support for the Indian diaspora, particularly in Dubai.He wrote, “Good to see HH Hamdan Mohammed during the call. Conveyed the appreciation of our Government for ensuring the welfare of the Indian community in Dubai.”
