2 tankers with Iranian crude reach India

NEW DELHI: Two tankers carrying Iranian crude have reached Indian ports, marking the first such deliveries since May 2019. According to ship-tracking data from Kpler, Felicity, a very large crude carrier carrying about two million barrels of oil, anchored off Sikka on Gujarat’s coast late on Sunday. A second tanker, Jaya, also carrying a similar volume of crude, anchored near Paradip off the Odisha coast around the same time. Both Felicity and Jaya were loaded at Kharg Island, Iran’s biggest seaport that handles nearly 90% of the country’s oil exports. While Felicity lifted cargo in mid-March, Jaya was loaded in late Feb, before military tensions between the US-Israel combine and Iran escalated. The shipping ministry, however, said that it was not aware of the two vessels.
