Amravati sex scandal: Ayaan Ahmed paraded through village as police recover phone linked to videos of minor girls
Cops parade Ayaan to seize sold phone

By Anil JadhavAMRAVATI: There was another twist to the Amravati sex abuse and video scandal on Wednesday after police paraded the main accused, Ayaan Ahmed, for 600m from Sarmaspura police station to an adjoining neighbourhood, where they recovered a phone which has now been sent for forensic analysis. Scores of villagers lined the road as Ayaan was escorted out of the police station under heavy police security. The location of the house was provided by Ayaan, who sold his mobile phone to the resident, Noman, a few days before his arrest. Police suspect the phone may contain crucial evidence related to the case.Apart from viral videos of girls, police are investigating details of a Thar SUV and “pistols” seen in a reel posted by Ayaan. The owner of the SUV has been identified as Rajesh Roshan Prajapati, 50, a resident of Sawali Datura in Achalpur taluka. Both weapons and the Thar have been seized from Prajapati, though the defence counsel for Ayaan claimed in court that these ‘pistols’ were air guns used mainly for agricultural purpose.

Police on Wednesday stopped short of calling the pistols as air guns. Their official statement mentions “since the bore of the seized pistols appears small, they will be sent to experts for further examination”.No new arrests were made on Wednesday though cops are expanding the scope of the probe and questioning other suspects. As of now, eight accused, including Ayaan are in custody with three FIRs registered against him. The SIT has recorded a statement of a minor girl from Nagpur, while the mother of a Paratwada minor approached cops and charged co-accused Uzer Khan with stalking her daughter.
