Europe hit by record heat, glacier loss and marine extremes per climate report




Europe recorded its hottest year yet in 2025, with unprecedented heatwaves stretching from the Mediterranean to the Arctic, rapid glacier melt, record sea temperatures and expanding wildfires, according to a major climate report warning the continent is warming twice as fast as the global average.
