SUV rams into MP Supriya Sule's car on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, all escape unhurt
MP Sule posted about the mishap on her X handle and posted image of the SUV

NAVI MUMBAI: NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, who was travelling in her car along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Saturday while returning to Mumbai, escaped unhurt after an SUV grazed her car before the Madap tunnel in the jurisdiction of Khalapur police in Raigad district.MP Sule posted about the mishap on her X handle, mentioning that, “While travelling from Pune to Mumbai today, I had an awful experience on the highway when vehicle GJ13CF5257 rammed into my car from the side due to reckless driving. Thankfully, everyone is safe.Incidents like these are a serious reminder that overspeeding and negligence on our roads can put countless lives at risk. I urge everyone to wear seat belts, remain alert and drive responsibly so that our highways are safer for all.”PSI Sanjay Tilekar of Palase Highway Safety Patrol (HSP) said, “The mishap of the car of MP Supriya Sule occurred after it crossed Khalapur toll plaza and reached 29 km before Madap tunnel. Though no police complaint has been lodged by MP Sule, the Khalapur police will be conducting further probe.”Sachin Pawar, senior inspector of Khalapur, said, “The SUV that grazed MP Supriya Sule’s car was driven by a resident of Gujarat, in which his friends were returning from Lonavala after a picnic. MP Sule was accompanied by her chauffeur and her personal assistant. All of them were unhurt. After the mishap, the HSP cops detained the SUV driver and his friends. Taking suo motu cognisance of the offence, an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of BNS and Motor Vehicles Act against the SUV driver for rash and negligent driving causing damage to the vehicle of MP Supriya Sule.
