LONDON: King Charles, who stripped Andrew of his royal titles last year because of his Epstein friendship, said he had “learned with the deepest concern” the news about his brother’s arrest. He said in a statement signed personally (“Charles R”) instead of being issued by Buckingham Palace that the authorities had the royal family’s “full and wholehearted support and cooperation” and that “the law must take its course.”“What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all,” he said. The Prince and Princess of Wales are understood to support the King’s statement.Andrew is the first senior British royal to be arrested since King Charles I, almost 400 years ago.
