Two drones fell near Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, injuring four people, including an Indian national, as the conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran continues to show no sign of abating and affects infrastructure across the region.Authorities in United Arab Emirates said the drones came down in the vicinity of the airport but air traffic continued to operate normally.
“Authorities confirm that two drones fell in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) a short while ago,” the Dubai Media Office said in a statement posted on X.The office said the attack caused “minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, and moderate injuries to one Indian national.”

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said a container ship and a bulk carrier were struck by projectiles off the UAE coast, while another vessel was hit in the Strait of Hormuz near Oman, causing a fire that was later extinguished.The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy routes, carrying nearly 20% of global oil supplies.The broader conflict has also seen attacks on energy infrastructure across the Gulf. Facilities including the Saudi Aramco complex at Ras Tanura and the Ruwais Refinery in the UAE have been targeted, while major gas producer Qatar Energy halted production last week citing the escalating security situation.
