TRICHY: AIADMK candidate Leema Rose Martin, wife of lottery baron Santiago Martin, who is contesting the Tamil Nadu assembly polls from Lalgudi constituency in Trichy, has declared total assets worth Rs 1,049.5 crore in the affidavit submitted along with her nomination papers on Monday, which makes her the richest candidate in the fray in the state.The 58-year-old candidate, who studied till Class VI from a govt higher secondary school, is a resident of Coimbatore.Leema has valued her movable assets at Rs 139.6 crore and her spouse’s at Rs 3,262 crore. Her immovable assets were valued at Rs 909.9 crore, and her husband’s at Rs 887.3 crore. In her 159-page poll affidavit, she has also declared investments in several sectors, including real estate, merchandise, gaming and hotel services.
She has mentioned her annual income for FY 2024-25 as Rs 9.8 crore and her husband’s as Rs 11.3 crore. The couple had made donations to several political parties, including AIADMK and DMK. Their son, Jose Daison Martin, mentioned as dependent, has an annual income of Rs 19.5 crore. TNN
