The makers of Ranbir Kapoor’s highly anticipated film Ramayana recently unveiled its teaser in Los Angeles. However, the preview has not yet been released in India and is expected to drop on April 2, a move that has left many of the actor’s fans disappointed. The decision has sparked a debate online, with several users taking to X to question why the teaser was showcased overseas before being made available to Indian audiences. Some users alleged that the makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial are prioritising international markets and NRI audiences, while others felt the move overlooked the emotional connect Indian viewers have with the story.“What’s wrong with India. It’s an Indian movie why not India first,” one of the users wrote. “Just to create hyper in India the drama is going on..Ramayana is our story..why first glimpse in another country………producer only wants money.. where are the emotions of our people,” added another. “So the absolute first people to ever see this are in Los Angeles, not India? Wow got it! At least Varanasi event was in, you know, India!” a third user wrote.The film boasts a star-studded cast, with Ranbir Kapoor stepping into the role of Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi portraying Goddess Sita. Yash will appear as Ravana, while Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey will essay Hanuman and Lakshman, respectively. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh are set to play Mandodri and Surpanakha. The ensemble cast also includes Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan in key roles.
