MEERUT: Skeletal remains of a teacher were found in her home in Meerut on Saturday morning, five months after her death under mysterious circumstances. The teacher was identified as Priyanka Biswas.According to police, Priyanka’s father, Bhanu Biswas, had been keeping her body at the house for nearly five months. To prevent any odour, he allegedly sprayed perfume on it daily.The matter came to light when relatives visited the house and noticed a foul smell. On checking the room, they found the body on a bed, by then reduced to a skeleton.Police said the house gate was found locked when they arrived. After opening it, they discovered the interior filled with garbage and debris. In one room, Priyanka’s skeletal remains were found on the bed. After five months, only one leg remained intact, with most of the body reduced to bones.The remains have been sent for medical examination, while questioning of the father is ongoing.Police said the investigation is focused on two key questions — how the woman died and why her body was not cremated.
