Overdose of sexual enhancement pills’: Days before fiancée’s visit, govt executive found dead in Gurgaon flat

GURGAON: A 29-year-old executive with a govt organisation was found dead in his rented flat in Sector 53 on Thursday morning, with police suspecting he may have died due to an overdose of sexual enhancement pills.According to sources, police are awaiting the man’s postmortem report to confirm the exact cause of death and the suspicion was based on the medication being found next to his body. The deceased, originally from Nagpur, was living alone. A source said he was recently engaged and had been expecting a visit from his fiancee soon.Police received a call at 10.05am from the man’s colleague who had grown concerned after he did not answer his phone or open the door. The man shared a commute with four to five colleagues who travelled together to work daily. The first call was made around 8am, and after repeated attempts, the colleagues reached his flat around 9am. His family had also been trying to reach him in the meantime.Police broke open the door and found him lying inside covered in a bedsheet. The door had been locked from inside with no signs of forced entry. “There is a possibility that he consumed more than the prescribed dosage of the enhancement pill, which may have led to a sudden spike in blood pressure,” a source said.No foul play has been detected so far. Inquest proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita have been initiated at Sector 53 police station. The body has been preserved for postmortem, to be conducted on Friday after the man’s family arrives from Nagpur.
