US, Israel strikes in Tehran: India issues advisory, urges Indians to exercise 'utmost caution'

NEW DELHI: India on Saturday issued an advisory urging its citizens in Israel to exercise “utmost caution and remain vigilant” following attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States.The Embassy of India in Tel Aviv released the advisory, stating, “In view of the prevailing security situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Israel are advised to exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant at all times.”The embassy asked Indian nationals to strictly follow safety guidelines and instructions issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command.It advised citizens to remain close to designated shelters and to familiarise themselves with the nearest protected spaces near their residence or workplace.The advisory comes after Israel launched a “preemptive strike” on Iran and several explosion rock Tehran.“The State of Israel has launched a preemptive strike against Iran. Defence minister Israel Katz has declared a special and immediate state of emergency throughout the country,” a ministry statement said.As the strike unfolded, sirens sounded across Israel and citizens received phone alerts warning of an “extremely serious” threat.Indian nationals have also been told to avoid all non-essential and unnecessary travel within Israel until further notice.The advisory further encouraged people to regularly monitor local news, official announcements and emergency alerts for updates.In case of any emergency, Indian nationals can contact the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv through its 24×7 helpline. The embassy said it remains in close contact with relevant authorities and will continue to issue updates as required.
