Men in BMW, Fortuner refuse to pay toll fee, assault and abduct staffer in north Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Three men travelling in a BMW and a Toyota Fortuner allegedly assaulted and briefly abducted a toll plaza employee at Kadathanamale gate near Rajanukunte, north Bengaluru, after refusing to pay the fee.The accused claimed they were associates of a local MLA and forced their way through the barrier early Friday. Rajanukunte police registered an FIR under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint by 18-year-old Druva, a toll collector originally from Davanagere. According to the complaint, the BMW (registration number KA-51 MR-7090) and the Fortuner arrived at the toll plaza from Doddaballapura side. When Dhruva asked for toll, the occupants reportedly became aggressive, stating they had no FASTag or cash and dropped the MLA’s name. They punched Dhurva in the face and kicked him, the complaint said. When Dhruva’s colleague Deekshith rushed to his aid, the gang forcibly bundled Deekshith into the BMW. They assaulted Deekshith and pushed him out of the moving vehicle. The incident has been captured by CCTVs installed at the toll gate. Cops are searching for the accused.
