Ex-UK police officer accused of scamming Dior, Cartier and Apple in refund fraud

An ex-Metropolitan Police (London Police) officer has been accused of cheating luxury brands out of thousands of pounds by falsely claiming expensive online purchases never arrived.Sunna Harrison-Aziz, 28, allegedly obtained items from brands including Christian Dior, Cartier and Moncler through fake non-delivery claims, according to The Telegraph. The products mentioned in court included a £700 Dior bikini, a Cartier wedding band worth nearly £2,000, an £840 Moncler jacket and a £2,599 Apple MacBook bought from Currys.Prosecutors allege Harrison-Aziz improperly accessed police systems between January and September 2022 while carrying out the fraud. She has been charged with multiple offences, including fraud, misuse of police powers and attempting to interfere with the investigation. The court heard she allegedly hid her mobile phone from investigators and falsely claimed it had been broken and lost before later destroying it after police searched her home.Harrison-Aziz, from Croydon in south London, has denied all charges. The investigation was carried out by the Met’s Anti-Corruption and Abuse Command under the supervision of the Independent Office for Police Conduct. She appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court alongside Edgar Morais, who is accused of encouraging misuse of police powers. Another defendant, Eugene Nunoo, did not attend the hearing because of train cancellations.During the hearing, District Judge Daniel Sternberg rejected a request from Harrison-Aziz’s lawyer to stop the media from identifying her, after concerns were raised about her mental health and anxiety over publicity. The case will next be heard at Southwark Crown Court on June 2. Harrison-Aziz remains on unconditional bail.
